Here’s a couple of clips to show you how to play Mathino, the card game that lets you master math facts and never know you’re learning because you’re having so much fun. The first video introduces the game and the second is a demonstration of game play.
This next video shows a little of the more complex moves possible but still very accessible to players (square and cube rooting). Mathino lets players build on the skills they know without forcing them to jump ahead of what they are comfortable with. However, the competition to win the game is a powerful incentive to stretch your math skills just a little bit to outplay your opponents.
Many parents and teachers are looking for elementary math games for children to use to master their skills. There’s not a lot of games out there that let you engage social skills, competition, and math facts in the same game and after playing Mathino, you’ll know you’ve found a keeper. When I read Marsh Kaminsky’s story (on the home page of this site) I knew I needed to contact the creator to learn more and after playing the game with him, I knew how effective this game would be for children…and engaging. Every child, teen, and adult I’ve played this game with has wanted a copy for their family because it’s so engaging and educational. Try it out. You won’t be disappointed.
